Catrike in the Wild

After a long rest in the bike barn, I took out the ol' Catrike Expedition for the first time in many weeks.  We did a challenging 21 mile loop, gaining about 1,500 ft.  It was a glorious spring day. Although as you can see, the hills are already starting to turn brown.  Still, conditions were perfect, and the road unfurled in fine fashion.  Good to be out, just me an the Cat.

East Side Wonders

On a recent day trip to the Alabama Hills below Mt. Whitney, Jodi and I finished climbing a little early and hit the Whitney Portal trail.  I took the new camera and had some fun.  The photo above is with a mildly wide angle setting, basically zero magnification.  Below you'll see some 24x, which is pretty good for a small camera.  The scenery speaks for itself.  We are blessed indeed to live so close and have the resources to get out there.

Righteous Outdoors

Getting out and about and enjoying this beautiful planet.  I wonder, however, if the photo above will be the last significant snow of the season, and this year we haven't had any down at our house, the 4,000ft. level.  Still, we rejoice in what we can get.  Below are a couple of photos of Jodi tearing it up on Dike Hike, a very nice 10b in the high desert outside Apple Valley.

About to head out on a quick hike with Jo and the hound then it's down to business with a big stack of papers.  Gotta pay for the adventures somehow.

A (very) little snow

If you look very closely, you can see a few snowflakes drifting down through the grey morning sky.  We hit the hill early to get some workout for hound and human.  We'd sure like to see more of this stuff, but the snow level was over 4,500 ft. on this one, so nothing down at the house.  It sure is wonderful to see on the mountains, however.  Get out folks, whatever the weather.
